Chateau Millet

Since 1890, the family Deche has been producing its Bas Armagnac's from Baco and Ugni-Blanc harvested wines, vinified [to convert (the juice of grapes, for example) into wine by the process of  fermentation] and distilled at Chateau Millet in the heart of Bas Armagnac region, close to the town of Eauze.

Today the distillation of specially selected Baco wines takes place during the first half of December of each year using an authentic Armagnac still in continuous operation,as evidenced by the two "boilers", in other words the two stills, mentioned in the deed of the end of the 19th century when the family bought the estate.

Chateau Millet is committed to this grape variety, definitely recognized as a major Armagnac grape variety, for the characteristic roundness and smoothness that it gives to our soils.

All of the vintaged crop is aged in 400 litre oak barrels until the bottling date mentioned on the label. The current stock of Chateau Millet in Sydney was bottled in March, 2021, therefore, the 1981 vintage has been in barrels for 40 years absorbing the flavours of the unique oak barrels from that region.

Château de Sandemagnan

Château de Sandemagnan is a historic property located in one of La Chaîne Thermale du Soleil's domaines in Barbotan. Very near Cazaubon in the Bas Armagnac region.

It is owned by the famous French chef – Michel Guerrard. He has a number of thermal bath hotels in the south west region of France.

On the road between Cazaubon and Eauze lies the very picturesque Chateau de Sandemagnan with an elegant tree entry to its warehouse.

Its 1975 vintage won a Gold at the International Wine & Spirit Competition in 2018, judges’ scoring 90-92.9. " An old, old Armagnac which in its antiquity has achieved a kind of quiet serenity. The overiding flavours of burnt orange peel, orange blossom, raisin, fig and fruitcake spread deliciously from the nose through to the palate. Supremely well balanced, medium bodied, starts quietly but grows, and grows and grows in intensity on the palate to the longest imaginable finish.”
